“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loves us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” -1 John 4:10

“Propitiation” is an offering that reconciles.  A definition from the free dictionary.com reads like this: “the act of atoning for sin or wrongdoing.”  We are all born with sin.  It’s been handed down since the first parents (Adam & Eve).  The righteousness of God demands a consequence for that sin.  The consequence is death.  Jesus came and suffered the consequence for us and reconciled us back to God

God does not want us to suffer eternal death – eternal separation from Him.  He loves us and wants to be with us, however, He will never MAKE us love Him.

God’s love means that He will always be with you to comfort and guide you.  He will work His perfect plan for your life.  You will be unconditionally accepted and forever changed.  He loves you so much that He gave His life for you.  There is no greater love than that.  “In this is love …”
