Loving Proof – Day 4

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loves us,” -Ephesians 2:4

The original Greek word for “great”, used in this verse means; “many, much, large” (Strong’s Concordance of the Bible). God has much love for us – large love for us.  Do you have someone in your life whom you love with all your heart?  Take that love that you feel for that person and magnify it, I don’t even know how many times, and you’ve got God’s love for us.  God is too huge for any human to measure.  How can His love be any different?  His love for us is immeasurable, incomprehensible, and incredible to the human mind.  We seem to need to understand someone’s love for us.  Why do they love us?  How much do they love us?  Is their love dependable?  We have to know that love is trustworthy.

I can testify that God’s love is trustworthy.  I can also testify that it is great!  He never gives up on me.  Regardless of how much I mess up; He picks me up, dusts me off, and sets me on my feet again.  I fail to do what’s right – He still loves me.  I get angry with Him – He still loves me.  I don’t get what He’s trying to teach me so He has to teach it over and over again – He still loves me.  I represent Him poorly – He still loves me. No matter what we do, He still loves us.  Love is His nature, just as righteousness is His nature.  When we discipline our children and let them suffer the consequences of their choices, we still love them.  It’s the same with God – our Heavenly Father.  He loves us greatly!
